A lifetime working with and helping people, brought to Saskatoon by way of Cambodia.
Some of the most meaningful lessons in my life have come from the people I’ve met and the experiences we’ve shared along the way.
My journey began with a Diploma in Correctional Studies and a career as a Correctional Officer. Working with individuals facing significant personal challenges taught me that compassion, patience, and understanding can have a lasting impact. It was during this time that I discovered a deeper calling: helping people navigate difficult circumstances and create positive change in their lives.
That calling led me to spend the next 13 years working with at-risk and troubled youth throughout Saskatchewan. Along the way, I had the privilege of building strong relationships with Indigenous youth, families, and communities. Through these experiences, I gained a deep appreciation for Indigenous cultures, traditions, and perspectives, while learning the value of trust, respect, and genuine human connection.
Today, at Panko Collaborative Law, I continue to be inspired by the opportunity to support people through some of life’s most challenging transitions. In my previous work, I witnessed firsthand the lasting effects that family conflict can have on children and youth. Many of the young people I worked with had experienced significant trauma, and it became clear that separation and divorce can have profound, life-long impacts on families when conflict remains unresolved. These experiences reinforced my belief in the importance of respectful communication, collaboration, and finding healthier paths forward for everyone involved, especially children.
Beyond my professional life, I’ve always been drawn to adventure and new experiences. I’ve traveled to more than 25 countries and spent two years living in Southeast Asia, where I worked at an elephant sanctuary and lived on islands off the coast of Cambodia. Those experiences broadened my perspective and deepened my appreciation for different cultures and ways of life.
Above all, I am a proud father. Being a dad is the role I cherish most and the one that keeps me grounded. Whether I’m spending time with family, camping, fishing, exploring the outdoors, or relaxing on a beach, I value the simple moments that bring people together. For me, life has always been about connection, growth, and making a positive difference wherever the journey leads.
