My story began in a community where my roots run deep in my indigenous heritage. Growing up, I was immersed in the values of family, culture, and the importance of helping others. It was in these values that it would later guide me on a path towards making a difference. From a young age, I feel like I have developed a sense of justice, a desire to help navigate life’s challenges.
Part of my journey began in high school, and going into undergrad, where I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, majoring in sociology. I studied the intricacies of human behaviour and social systems and found that I wanted to be someone who could help others find clarity in difficult times.
During my studies, I became a mother—an experience that further deepened my understanding of life’s challenges, and the complexities of balancing personal, social and family responsibilities.
My desire to make a direct impact led me to law school. I believe that becoming a lawyer, I could help provide a voice for those who needed it. With my own personal experiences, it was clear to me that many people struggle to figure things out on their own, without the knowledge or resources to make sense of the complex legal world. I wanted to help change that. I am committed to my goal of helping others find clarity, providing support through the most difficult and confusing times in their lives.
“Navigating through hard times is never easy, but with the right support, you can find a path forward. It’s not about avoiding the struggles, but about learning how to face them with strength, grace and clarity.”
