Mackenzie Singer

I was born and raised in Saskatoon and have grown to love this city (even on the coldest days). I have always dreamed of becoming a lawyer, so I can help people at some of the most challenging points of their lives. This lofty goal led me to the combined B. Comm and J.D. program at the University of Saskatchewan. I spent three years at Edward’s School of Business learning a variety of skills related to financial literacy, business management, and most important; communication with others. I majored in Human Resources, because I see the most essential aspect of a business is the people.

One of the first things I did upon acceptance into law school was a deep dive into various disciplines of law and how lawyers within these disciplines can affect their clients’ lives. Almost immediately I saw immense value in family law, due to the direct and lasting impact on clients. During law school, I was drawn to the world of dispute resolution, specifically in family law. Mediation and Collaborative Law can yield invaluable tools in navigating a co-parenting relationship, as they lay the groundwork for improved communication and can provide additional tools and resources, as necessary. As someone who is a bit of a control-freak, I can see the value of dispute resolution in terms of adding back a sense of control in a process that can feel completely foreign. Dispute resolution provides not only relief on the over-burdened court system, but builds on essential communication and relationship skills, as well as saving you time and money.

I am thrilled to begin my Articles at Panko Collaborative Law and Mediation because this truly is a firm founded in respect, excellence, and community.
